VC (also known as Venture Capital) provide money to start-up companies through interested investors. Many of these investors include institutional investors, big corporations and more.

There are various stages of funding - the earliest is seed funding, where investors invest money in exchange for equity stake in the company. Following this comes the Series A, B and C funding rounds that are used to help the company expand beyond its investment stages.
